Gilbert Gottfried has played everything from an improvised scene in Beverly Hills Cop II, where he played Sidney Bernstein, to the frustrated duck in the AFLAC Insurance commercials, to the voice of the wise-cracking parrot IAGO, in Alladin, with his own unique style.
Gottfried began at the tender age of 15, doing stand-up at open mic nights in New York City, and after a few years became known as "the comedian's comedian." After spending several years mastering the art of stand-up comedy, producers of the legendary NBC late night comedy show Saturday Night Live became aware of Gottfried and, in 1980, hired him as a cast member. It wasn't until a few years later when his true notoriety would begin when MTV hired him for a series of improvised and hilarious promos for the newly formed channel. This led to several television appearances on "The Cosby Show" and "Late Night with David Letterman."
Soon his work in television led to film roles in "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Look Who's Talking II," and "The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane." He also co-hosted the popular USA television's "Up All Night," and has appeared often on Howard Stern, Jay Leno, and The Tonight Show.
"Gilbert Gottfried Dirty Jokes" was released recently on both DVD and CD, featuring 50 non-stop minutes of Gottfried telling the funniest, filthiest jokes ever. Appearing in the recent comedy documentary, "The Aristocrats," Entertainment Weekly said of the comic, "out of the 101 comedians who appear on screen, no one is funnier - or more disgusting – than Gilbert Gottfried.”
Gottfried is one of the most sought-after comedians, and regularly performs live to sold-out audiences across North America.
