Inc. 5000 Ranks Visix as One of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies for the Second Consecutive Year

Visix, Inc. | 22 Aug 2008

Inc. today ranked Visix number 2,798 on its annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the country with three-year sales growth of 129%. The list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy generating aggregate revenues of $185 billion.

“Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism,” said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. “The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth.”

“In one of the most talked about segments of the visual communications market, digital signage, we are the only company to make the list,” stated Sean M. Matthews, President, Visix, Inc. “We continue to execute a business plan delivering triple-digit sales growth and double-digit returns. Our focused approach has enabled us to penetrate specific user markets and provide them with the tools most applicable to their real-world requirements. Looking forward to our 2008 performance, we continue to see double-digit volume growth in the number of server and media player applications shipped and triple-digit growth in the number of implementations and training sessions being delivered. In 2009 we expect to deliver a new, more robust, software platform that will not only improve the user experience, but help make our support offering more efficient and further differentiate us from the competition.”

AxisTV, the company’s flagship software product, is deployed in hundreds of locations on three continents around the world. Clients are using the web-based applications to deliver time-sensitive content to an array of endpoints including large displays, televisions, cell phones, RSS readers and desktops as screen savers and pop-up messages. Depending on client requirements and configuration, users can simultaneously deliver information to hundreds of displays in public places and thousands of personal desktops and mobile devices. The company will deliver its 1000th deployment later this year.

Methodology
The 2008 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, for profit, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007.
