Elvis Moreland has been selected by PremiereTecTM Solutions LLC for the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) position. Moreland will be responsible for overall security policy direction for the PremiereTecTM companies and will be working with clients, to consult with client executives regarding security and compliance concerns.
The new CISO position was created as part of a reorganization initiated by James Dicks, CEO and Robert Smith CIO, after the company executives determined it was better to be progressive and proactive towards information security and to expand managed security services offered to PremiereTecTM commercial and government clients.
"Moreland brings to PremiereTecTM over 20 years of technology experience, with more than 10 years specializing in the development and implementation of information security management programs and policy," Smith said.
Moreland has worked with such organizations as the U.S. National Archives, Executive Office of the President Electronic Records Archive (ERA) program, the U.S. Supreme Court CSIRC, the Federal Aviation Administration Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) Security Operations Center, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Transportation Command (Global C4S Coordination Center (GCCC), Global Helpdesk, J6/J2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District, Harris Corporation and J.P. Morgan Chase, where he has served in progressive positions of responsibility in Operations, IT Service Management, IT Security, and Information Assurance (IA) Management.
Moreland holds an Associate’s degree from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor’s degree from Oakland City University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Assurance. He has been awarded several industry certifications such as the National Security Agency’s INFOSEC Evaluation Methodology (NSA IEM) and INFOSEC Assessment Methodology (NSA IAM), ISC2.org’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and CompTIA.org’s Security+, Network+ and A+ certifications. He received the distinguished recognition from Computerworld as a Premier 100 IT Leader.
