REI Systems Awarded SBIR 2008 Phase III Research Project

REI Systems Awarded SBIR 2008 Phase III Research Project

REI Systems, Inc | 29 Aug 2008

REI Systems, Inc. (REI) announced today that it was awarded a contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to implement a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module on the “Software as a Service” (SaaS) platform, supporting NASA’s Innovative Partnership Program (IPP). This pilot project is the first step towards realizing NASA’s vision of a 360º view of interactions between NASA and external entities, including companies, federal agencies, and non-profit organizations. REI will support NASA in its current effort to evaluate and select an IT framework based on the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, to build an overall architecture for capturing, managing, and reporting its technology investments in support of the changing needs of the IPP and the Agency.

NASA’s Innovative Partnership Program (IPP) provides essential technology and capabilities for NASA's Mission Directorates, Programs, and Projects through investments and partnerships with Industry, Academia, Government Agencies and National Laboratories. As one of NASA's Mission Support Offices, the IPP supports all Mission Directorates and has Program Offices at each of the NASA Centers. In addition to leveraged technology investments, dual-use technology-related partnerships, and technology solutions for NASA, IPP enables cost avoidance, and accelerates technology maturation. The established IPP program elements increase NASA's connection to emerging technologies in external communities, enable targeted positioning of NASA's technology portfolio in selected areas, and secure NASA's intellectual property to provide fair access and to support NASA's strategic goals.

“As a company, we believe that SaaS will be the platform of choice for future IT applications” says Shyam Salona, REI Systems Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). “We have supported 100’s of commercial clients in realizing the benefits of this amazing technology, and making them successful. REI is now delighted to support NASA as an early SaaS adopter in the Federal Government. We fully recognize the importance of this SaaS CRM initiative to NASA and will share our best practices and lessons learned to achieve complete success in implementing the solution across the different NASA centers.”
