EduCorp Training and Consulting | 24 Sep 2008
Sue Murray, President of EduCorp Training and Consulting, was recognized as one of the Top 40 Women in Business by Opportunity World magazine and Women Presidents' Organization in the July/September 2008 issue of Opportunity World Magazine.
The "Top 40 Women in Business" award acknowledges women who are established leaders in their respective fields and have earned the right to stand up among their peers and be commended for their contributions and achievements. As the requirements of the award suggest, Sue Murray is an active member of several groups for women in both business and technology. Ms. Murray won this award because she serves as an example and mentor to women seeking to develop successful careers in male-dominated fields.
Previously a leader at IBM, Ms. Murray left the company in just 1993 to establish EduCorp, a technology training company that quickly grew to be IBM's core education supplier. Now recognized as one of IBM's top diversity suppliers, EduCorp has expanded its reach to include professional and soft skills training. Recently, EduCorp acquired Austin-area consulting firm MDR Consulting and Education and launched an IT consulting division called ETC Solutions.
Furthermore, Sue Murray is a accepted as a true pioneer who won respect as a successful woman in the oil and gas business, and later in technology, both fields traditionally dominated by men. Since becoming involved in the technology field, Sue has made valuable contributions that have fundamentally improved the performance of computer programs in solving problems while also accelerating the use of high performance computing.
In just 15 years EduCorp has grown to more than $12 million in annual revenue and has been recognized among DiversityBusiness.com's Top Small Businesses in 2006-2007 as well as Tech Titan and Tech Advocate Award finalist 2007 by Dallas Business Journal.
