Transite Technology | 25 Sep 2008

Company drives to be industry leader in the supply chain transportation and shipping logistics market.

Transite Technology, a leading provider of supply chain transportation and logistics management software and services, has hired Les Hamashima as their chief marketing officer. In his new role, Hamashima will be responsible for leading and executing marketing strategy and sales performance for the transportation logistics technology company.

“Since 2002, we’ve been focused on developing a rock-solid set of supply chain technologies and service, while securing customers that prove our ability to lower the cost of shipping,” said Geoff Comrie, founder and CEO of Transite. “Now that we’ve executed well on honing our solutions and working with our customers to sharpen our processes, we are going to be very aggressive in growing our company.”

Comrie added that, with the price of gas increasing at almost 40% from a year ago, the cost of shipping and freight has grown to become most companies’ third-largest expense item.

Transite’s flagship shipping solution, My Freight Portal, and associated products help companies obtain the least-cost methods and carriers for every order that needs to be delivered to a destination while increasing a company’s ability to manage their shipping logistics and offer better customer service through visibility of the entire lifecycle of the shipping process.

“Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to learn results-driven sales and marketing from a fantastic range of experiences,” said Hamashima. “Our team is focused on growing Transite’s market footprint and cementing Transite as a high-growth industry leader in this complex part of the supply chain and logistics market.”

Before joining Transite, Hamashima was head of global PR at Tekelec and previously directed corporate communications at Motricity. Prior to Motricity, he was director of corporate affairs at SAS. Hamashima holds an Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrated studies in journalism from the University of North Carolina.
